Jose Mourinho reveals that Paul Pogba is one of United’s mainstays
Jose Mourinho reveals that Paul Pogba is one of United’s mainstays who will feature in the dead rubber versus Palace.
Mourinho had previously hinted that he would be trying out his second choice players versus Palace and would keep most of his mainstays out.
It was thought Mourinho would probably keep Pogba out as well and would allow him some more time to mourn the loss of his dad and recover from it.
But, the coach’s thinking is that because Pogba had not been with the team for the last 7-8 days and was away performing the last riots of his father, he doesn’t have any training under his belt of late.
So for him to be in rhythm and to be at his fluent best in the title game of Europa League where United will be taking on Ajax, it’s important that he has some game time in the Premiership this weekend.
Mourinho believes Pogba has got a solid temperament inside out. He has remained tough at the time of this tragic incident and is ready to take the pitch.
Talking about the other two vital players of his team Smalling and Fellaini both of whom are struggling with their fitness at the moment, Mourinho says that he is not worried about Smalling that much because his problem is not a major one at all. He is going to be okay in 2-3 days and should be available for selection in the Ajax game, but, the coach admits there are some doubts over the fitness of Fellaini.
Fellaini had pulled up his hammy playing at St. Mary’s stadium yesterday. He has had the scans on it today and as per Mourinho, the management is waiting for the reports before they take a call over his participation in that big final which will be held next Wednesday at the Friends Arena.
