MATA STAYING
The midfielder of Chelsea, Juan Mata, has made it clear that he is not planning to take a transfer this summer.
In the last few weeks, there were speculations that Mata is looking to sign for a new club this summer, but, those speculations didn’t turn out to be true.
In one of his interviews last week, when Mata was asked about the reports of him planning to leave Chelsea, Mata said, “I am really surprised by these reports. I don’t have any intentions of leaving Chelsea at the moment.”
“I had a chat with the officials of the club at the end of the last season and I had been told that I was a vital part of the team.”
“I think the new manager will have a good look at everyone before deciding anything. You can’t judge people without knowing them.”
“My holidays are going to finish in a few days. After that, I will have a meeting with Jose Mourinho. Hopefully, everything will be fine.”
Mata has been linked with his boyhood club Real Madrid. When asked about that, he said, “I just have positive things to say about Real Madrid. It’s the club where I learnt the basics of football. They looked after me wonderfully and helped me grow up as a person. That club is really close to my heart.”
“But, I have had a great time in England as well in the last couple of years. It’s been fantastic playing in the Premier League and I want to continue that.”
Mata had signed for Chelsea in August 2011 after leaving Valencia. The Blues had paid a transfer fee of 23.5 million Pounds for buying him.
Mata has played 118 matches for Chelsea and has found the net 32 times.
