NO LAZIO MOVE FOR MATA – REPORT
Spanish midfielder Juan Mata won’t be signing for Italian Serie A side Lazio this summer. The 34-year-old playmaker is a free agent after leaving Manchester United. Juan Mata spent over eight years with the Premier League heavyweights before leaving them at the end of his contract this summer.
Juan Mata spent some seasons at Chelsea upon his transfer to the club from Spanish La Liga team Valencia. Manchester United paid around £37m to secure his transfer at the start of 2014. He could have joined fellow Spanish players such as Luis Alberto, Patric and Pedro Rodriguez if Sarrihad accepted to give him a deal as a free agent.
Mata is no longer in the picture as far as the Spanish national team is concerned. He scored ten goals in 41 games forhis country at the senior national team level.
Juan Mata had not been a regular in the Manchester United starting XI for some seasons before his exit from the club this summer. He played 12 times for the Red Devils in competitive games. The playmaker featured for a total of 409 minutes. He’s one of the experienced players to leave Manchester United this summer. Apart from Mata, Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, French midfielder Paul Pogba and Serbian midfielder NemanjaMatic also left Manchester United this summer.
