JUAN MATA: MARTIAL IS SPECIAL
Manchester United player, Juan Mata hails his team mate’s display in the game against Everton in the English Premier League. The midfielder claims he knew the striker, Anthony Martial, was a special player.
The forward scored for The Red Devils in the must-win match against Everton to keep the hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification alive. Mata praised the efforts of the striker in the 1-0 win.
Juan Mata told MUTV: “Since day one that I have trained with him, I have felt that this guy has something special. He has everything to succeed in football at this club. He is quick, has goals, he can beat players one on one and he understands football.”
Anthony Martial, 20, scored the only goal in the encounter, increasing his goal count to 13 as he had scored in the previous games against West ham and Liverpool. Martial scored in the FA cup match against West ham at Old Trafford and the Europa League match against Liverpool via a spot kick.
The midfielder went on to praise the efforts of young sensation, Tim Fosu-Mensah. Tim came in during the break in the match. He helped the defense and also sent the cross that led to Martial’s lone goal.
“He is a very useful addition. With the injury to Daley Blind, he had to play centre-back in the last minutes and he did it very well. He is good on the ball, he is quick and he dares to play in front of this crowd,” Mata said.
Mata also posted a picture of him and injured Luke Shaw on a popular social app with the message: “My friend @lukeshaw23 just came in from running out on the pitch! Getting closer.” Left-back, Shaw, has been out inured but has returned to training recently after a double leg break.
