Juan Mata is determined to return to the Spanish squad
Juan Mata is regarded to be one of the finest midfielders in Europe as the Spanish midfielder has a set of skills that any top club would be willing to pay a significantly high amount of money in order to secure his services.
Jose Mourinho has even been questioned and critiqued after he allowed Juan Mata to join Manchester United in a transfer that was completed in January of 2014 as the Spanish player was signed by Manchester United for a price tag of €37.1.
In every single club that Juan Mata joined, he was a consistent performer who is not only able to score a fair amount of goals but is also a prolific assister. During Mata’s first season as a player of Chelsea, he managed to score 6 goals as well as provide 13 assists in the next season it was 12 assists. These statistics might not be outstanding or mind-blowing but it’s still very good taking into consideration that Mata managed to do it after having spent his first season in the Premier League as he is a player who adapts to a different league and a different team quicker than others who struggle in their first season in a new team.
Mata’s career with his national side has not been as fruitful in comparison to what he has accomplished with his club as the Spanish midfielder has not performed for Spain since June of 2014 when Spain defeated Australia with a final scoreboard of 3-0 and Mata entered the pitch at the 55th minute.
Juan Mata did manage to lift the 2010 World Cup with Spain but he was an unused substitute player for many of the matches as Mata struggles to make an impact with the Spanish squad with a large amount of substitute appearances being made for his national side.
Even though Mata has not made an appearance for Spain in over 8 months, he is still determined on making a return and turning into a regular starter.
